
A protest rally was organized by the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee at Congress Bhavan in Kohima on January 27 to commemorate Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and defend the principles of the Indian Constitution.
The protest, which was held as part of the ongoing ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan Abhiyan,’ also opposed the BJP’s remarks against Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and their alleged attempts to undermine the Constitution.
Speaking at the rally, Lok Sabha MP and PCC President S Supongmeren Jamir underscored the Congress party’s dedication to safeguarding constitutional values and guaranteeing justice and equality for all.
Khriedi Theunuo, the Working President of the NPCC, also addressed the gathering and expressed his apprehension regarding the BJP’s actions, which are eroding the foundation of the Constitution and denigrating the legacy of leaders such as Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi.
Furthermore, he asserted that the Constitution is essential for a nation such as India to uphold the rights and aspirations of its citizens, underscoring the importance of constitutional principles in the preservation of the nation’s unity and democracy.
