The Chief Minister of Tripura Pledges to Stop Militancy and Emphasizes the State’s Progress in Medical Education

The chief minister of Tripura pledges to stop militancy and emphasizes the state's progress in medical education.

On Monday, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha declared that the state’s government will never permit the militancy to re-enter the state.

AGARTALA: Tripura’s Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, said Monday that the state’s government will never allow militancy to resurface and that the state’s law enforcement system is attempting to address the issues that have recently been brought to light.

“I recently came across a statement indicating that insurgency is on the rise in Tripura again,” Dr. Saha stated at the oath-taking ceremony for the second batch of students at Agartala Government Nursing College. The law enforcement agencies are responsible for handling the matter. Our government won’t allow that to happen.

According to the chief minister, Tripura used to have just six or seven medical seats and one dental seat, but now the state offers 400 medical seats.

“I was informed by the Tripura Medical College administration that they have also applied to increase their current capacity by 50 seats. After clearance, the total number of MBBS seats would be 450. There are also a lot more nursing seats available currently,” he added.

According to established process, we need one doctor for every 1,000 people. As of yet, we haven’t matched that. “I hope we may soon surpass the national average with new doctors graduating from the newly established universities here,” Dr. Saha added.
