
China announced on Thursday that it had submitted “solemn representations” to the Taliban government of Afghanistan in response to the Islamic State group’s assertion that a Chinese mine worker was killed in an attack.
“The Chinese side urgently submitted solemn representations to the Afghan side, requesting that they conduct a comprehensive investigation and penalize the perpetrators,” stated Mao Ning, a spokesperson for the foreign ministry.
Additionally, Marco Rubio, in conjunction with his quadruple partners, issued a warning to China regarding its maritime activities on his inaugural day.
“China is deeply shocked by the attack, strongly condemns it and expresses condolences to the victims,” the communist leader stated.

On Tuesday evening, the provincial police spokesman, Mohammad Akbar Haqqani, informed AFP that the Chinese citizen was murdered by “unknown armed men” while traveling in northern Takhar province, which borders Tajikistan.

He stated that the man was traveling “for an unknown reason” and had not informed security officials, who typically accompany Chinese nationals on trips within the country.
SITE, a jihadist monitoring organization, reported that the regional chapter of the Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for the attack later Wednesday.
